A Minjungbal/Gudjinburra man of the Bundjalung community, the rapper made an incredible debut with Made for This in 2020, and follows it up with a suite of nuanced tracks about faith, family, culture and country. It's a lushly-produced record by Jay Orient, with a host of local soul and jazz musicians whom we here at Impressed know and love. JK taps into Talib Kweli with incredible flow throughout - all the time bringing an acute Indigenous Australian viewpoint.
Look out for the Tasman Keith-featuring "Avalanche" that opens side B too...powerful doesn't come close.
