What might be penned on the career wish list for a young musician starting out?
Write music for multiple Oscar Award-winning soundtracks?
Be Hollywood's speed-dial for writing music for hit TV series?
Write and produce with some incredible artists?
Tick. Tick. Tick.
If people were putting up their hands for someone who's seen and done it all in the music business, Fin Greenall of Fink could have his arm straight up high. Not that he ever would though, because he's so understated and humble in his approach.
We'll come straight out and say it: Fink is one of our favourite artists. In fact, if you've bought a record from us before, you'll know it - we tip our hat to him, quoting one of his (and our) favourite song & album titles on the packaging of every record we send to our customers.
His catalogue is one that's given us so much joy over the years, and is well worth your ears. From the stories of London on his second record 'Biscuits For Breakfast', to his incredible mid-period Berlin-based records such as 'Hard Believer', and his peerless recommendation playlists...and now to his own podcast too, we love what Fink is putting down.
So when we had the chance to put out an exclusive version of his latest album, again, filled with beauty, fragility and strength all at the same time, we jumped at the chance.
Fink recorded this record in Cornwall, in the UK. There's a rugged nature to the landscape that mirrors the music. In the package is a fabulous 28 page book that shows photos and lyrics from the recording sessions.
We're pressing only 200 copies, in a 'Cornish Sand' yellow, pressed as ever in Meanjin. Each one comes with an individually-numbered obi strip that's exclusive to this version.
