RUBY RODGERS - SIXTEEN / CRISIS - DOUBLE EP + SIGNED OBI STRIP
RELEASED NOVEMBER 6, 2026.
Written across five songs, Sixteen pairs richly textured, immersive arrangements with lyrics that explore identity, power, adolescence and the complexities of growing up. Throughout the EP, Ruby places deeply personal experiences alongside broader social questions, allowing intimacy and observation to exist in equal measure.
At the centre of the project is lead single Sixteen - a song that reflects on girlhood and the expectations placed on young women. It considers the contradiction of being told you're "just a kid" while simultaneously being viewed through an adult lens.
"The song came from thinking about what it means to grow up in a world that's constantly trying to tell you who you are," Ruby says. "I wanted to write about this uncomfortable obsession our society has with young women - the idea that innocence and youth are somehow the most desirable things a girl can possess. So many girls grow up feeling that tension, and I just wanted to put words to it."
Drawing inspiration from artists including Phoebe Bridgers, Radiohead and Ethel Cain, the Sixteen EP unfolds through rich, textured arrangements that create an immersive backdrop for Ruby's songwriting. Written alongside collaborators Alex Hope, Aubrie Mitchell, Rhys Lewis, Nick Kingswell, Jem Cassar-Daley, Jessica Mauboy, Shane Nicholson and Benjamin Rodgers, with production by Benjamin Rodgers, the EP broadens Ruby's songwriting without losing the intimacy that defines her writing.
"I think the thread connecting these songs is growing up and realising the world is a lot more complicated than you thought it was," Ruby says. "The EP is about becoming disillusioned with the world without becoming cynical. It's choosing joy, staying connected and believing things can still change."
Included in this release, is Ruby's debut EP 'Crisis'. Recorded at her home studio in NSW, 'Crisis' was produced by her father, songwriter & producer Ben Rodgers, with string arrangements by Jade Macrae. The EP explores themes of fear, hope, loss, and heartache – whether related to climate change, family relationships, or life's broader challenges. The EP opens with the poignant 'Family Tree,' which Rodgers describes as a track that explores the importance of staying connected to those who offer unconditional love. "Family Tree is about the importance of staying connected to the people who will love you unconditionally," Rodgers says. "Our lives are largely shaped by our upbringings and the people we surround ourselves with. It can be easy to take constants for granted until a significant loss makes us realize their importance."

Impressed is proud to present Darcie Haven's second EP, Angel of the Apocalypse on limited edition coke bottle green and blue marbled vinyl.
Darcie Haven is a rising indie-pop singer-songwriter from rural Western Australia, known for her emotionally resonant lyrics and atmospheric soundscapes. Her music delves into themes of young adulthood, mental health, and self-discovery, often drawing comparisons to artists like Phoebe Bridgers and Holly Humberstone.
This follows her debut EP, Better Left Unsaid, a six-track collection that captures the complexities of early adulthood, touching on love, heartbreak, and personal growth .
Angel of the Apocalypse sees Haven sharpen her trademark blend of raw lyricism and grungy pop production into a dark exploration of the mistakes and heartbreaks of early adulthood. Angel of the Apocalypse is deeply personal, sharply observational, and disarmingly haunting.
Pressed to limited edition heavyweight coke bottle green vinyl with blue marble, with our signature individually numbered obi strip, signed by the artist herself.
Limited to 300 copies only worldwide.
The vinyl features additional bonus tracks It's Been A Year.
