SALARYMEN - TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT - VINYL LP
“It's got that vintage-tint, textured, Salarymen bliss feel and what a way to feel while focusing on letting things go.” Claire Mooney, Triple J.
“It's the jangly bliss and heart-string pulls we've come to love from Salarymen.” Lucy Smith, Triple J.
Salarymen have spent the past year moving at a pace most bands only ever glimpse. Between national runs with Royel Otis and San Cisco, a sold-out date in the UK, and coveted slots at festivals from Lost Paradise to SXSW Austin and The Great Escape, the Sydney duo have quietly — and then loudly — become one of Australia’s most upward-surging indie acts. Their overseas debut in Japan and airplay across stations like triple j, FBi, BBC6 and KEXP have only accelerated that rise, placing them firmly on the radar of both local tastemakers and international audiences.
Their debut album, Take It Or Leave It, captures the heart of that momentum. The record digs into something more intimate: the long arc of a relationship lived in full view of one another. It traces the negotiations, fractures, reconciliations and small daily reckonings that define the merging of two lives — an emotional terrain the band navigates with rare honesty.
The lead single, “Let Me Go”, pushes Salarymen into new territory — an irresistible, dance-leaning track coloured by flashes of French disco and psychedelic sparkle. It’s a song about the paralysis of staying in what feels safe, even when it no longer fits, and the aching desire to finally step into the unknown. Already championed by radio, it sets the tone for a debut brimming with urgency and uplift.
