Pioneering electronic producer and DJ SHERELLE surprises the electronic music world by dropping her hugely anticipated debut album WITH A VENGEANCE unannounced and Impressed are proud to partner with Method 808 to press it to limited edition exclusive clear vinyl.
Made across 2024 between London and Amsterdam, WITH A VENGEANCE (or WAV for short) is the sound of uptempo catharsis, of SHERELLE making sense of a turbulent and difficult moment in time in her personal life. Determined to write one track a day, the studio became a safe space for SHERELLE to channel anger and feelings of betrayal, her hard and fast club tracks turning darkness into the cerebral joy of overcoming adversity. From those intense daily writing sessions has emerged a sharp, finely-crafted 10-track LP that is powered by fierce feminine energy and reflects the hard/soft and light/dark dualities of the dance-floor and life itself.
WITH A VENGEANCE is also a rally cry for the 160 scene, designed to push the tempo in new, exciting and as yet undiscovered directions. Inspired by SHERELLE’s foundational influences such as Kode9, Scratch DVA, Machinedrum, Lone and SBTRKT as well as the soundsystem-shaking groove of grime’s R&G sub genre, the album is designed to change perceptions of what 160 can be. But don’t get it twisted: this isn’t a concept album. WAV is for the dancefloor, delivering shades of London, New York, Detroit and Chicago in ways that are guaranteed to raise gun finger salutes.

The Hooversound co-founder and BEAUTIFUL founder - christened a leader of “the charge for a new generation of artists focused on dismantling and reshaping dance music for the better” by Mixmag - has a weekly BBC 6 Music show runs every Saturday night, from 11pm-1am, championing cutting-edge dance music to a mainstream audience, and has featured the likes of Luke Vibert, DJ Storm & Alix Perez. Hooversound - the label she runs with longtime friend Apple Music Presenter Naina - has carved out a reputation for the freshest outputs of UK club culture through releases featuring Special Request & Tim Reaper. Since the launch of BEAUTIFUL in
2021, an entity aimed at supporting black and LGBTQIA+ artists, SHERELLE has been
connecting creatives to celebrate diversity through music. Over the past 18 months she has worked with AIAIAI to offer free studio time and resources to artists at the BEAUTIFUL Studio in London.
